Position Overview
The Andrologist is responsible for the processing, analysis, preparation, and cryopreservation of sperm samples, ensuring the highest standards of laboratory quality, accuracy, and patient safety.
Reports To
Laboratory Director
Key Responsibilities
- Perform semen analysis and prepare sperm samples for procedures
- Conduct sperm cryopreservation
- Manage and maintain donor sperm inventory
- Thaw donor sperm samples for clinical procedures
- Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records
- Sterilize and maintain laboratory equipment
- Prepare and verify laboratory shipments
- Assist with inventory tracking and supply management
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a related field
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant laboratory experience
- CFAS certification (preferred)
- Strong understanding of patient identification protocols
- Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements related to handling biological samples
- Experience with laboratory equipment and procedures in a clinical setting
- Ability to follow strict quality control standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow direction, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Skills
- Proficiency in Google Docs and Sheets
- Strong patient service skills with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while adhering to protocols
- Strong multitasking and prioritization abilities
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workflow
Working Conditions
- General laboratory and office environment
- Working hours Monday to Friday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Availability required for weekend and holiday rotations
