Elliot Lake Granite Sport & Social is seeking a motivated, hands-on Maintenance General Manager Intern to join our team. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop practical management, facilities maintenance, operations, and leadership skills in a fast-paced, multi-purpose business environment.
The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our facilities while gaining valuable experience in inventory management, event operations, food and beverage services, and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities Building Maintenance & Facility Operations
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of all indoor and outdoor areas.
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems and equipment.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules.
- Arrange repairs with contractors when required.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Inventory & Purchasing
- Order and maintain inventory levels for maintenance supplies.
- Purchase kitchen, bar, cleaning, and operational supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Assist with budgeting and cost control.
Kitchen & Bar Operations
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen and bar operations.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
- Assist with menu planning and inventory control.
- Coordinate beverage and food ordering.
- Support event preparation and service.
Events Management
- Assist in planning and coordinating events.
- Prepare facilities before and after events.
- Coordinate staffing and event logistics.
- Ensure excellent customer service during all events.
Staff Leadership
- Assist with scheduling employees.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and staff training.
- Supervise staff during daily operations and special events.
- Promote a positive, safe, and productive workplace.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain maintenance logs and operational records.
- Assist with budgeting and reporting.
- Support daily management activities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques is considered an asset.
- Experience in hospitality, food service, events, or facility operations is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
