Financial Controller
Confidential Opportunity | Grande Prairie Region
A privately owned and established organization in the Grande Prairie region is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, this position plays a key role in guiding financial strategy, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting sound business decisions across the organization. The successful candidate will oversee a small accounting team while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of all financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day accounting and financial operations
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management
- Prepare month-end and year-end financial statements and working papers
- Manage banking relationships, reconciliations, weekly payments, and margin reporting
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, tax requirements, and government reporting
- Develop and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting practices
- Support strategic planning through financial analysis and performance reporting
- Mentor and support a small accounting team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement

Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA designation is considered an asset but is not required for candidates with significant relevant experience
- Previous experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting role
- Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff
- Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office
- Valid Alberta driver's licence
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
