We currently have an opening for our Nanaimo branch for a Heavy Duty Mechanic.
Under the direction of the Shop Manager, duties will include service, repair, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting for fuel/propane tank trucks and industrial fuel applications.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Prepare work orders and other necessary paperwork and documentation to Company and Customer requirements.
- Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot problems with customer mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Maintain a clear drivers abstract and produce one upon request.
- Ensure proper maintenance is conducted for Company tools, equipment, vehicles and trailers.
- Meet company, customer and legislative safety standards (i.e. proper PPE, equipment material handling.
Qualifications and potential assets.
- Done right the first time attitude
- Minimum 5 years HET Red Seal ticket
- Strong electronics aptitude; ability to build electrical circuits
- Hands on experience or strong familiarity with Petroleum Handling Equipment
- Transport B620 Experience, an asset
- Clean drivers abstract.
- Ability to work independent, efficiently manage assigned requests.
- Excellent Communication ability, time management and organizational skills
- An interest and motivation for building relationships with customers
- Extensive fabrication ability
- Must be able to work in a demanding, high paced work environment and enjoy learning new concepts
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Welding experience.
- Shear and Press Brake experience.
- Extensive hydraulic system experience
- First Aid, WHMIS, POST.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.10-$40.19 per hour
