Outside Sales Representative

Cambridge Floors is growing, and we are looking for a motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, creating new business opportunities, and working in the construction and design industry. The successful candidate will represent Cambridge Floors to architects, designers, contractors, builders, restoration companies, property managers, and other industry professionals.
Our goal is to continue growing our project portfolio while providing clients with trusted flooring solutions, strong communication, and dependable service. This role is not intended to be administrative-heavy. The selected candidate will have the support of an estimator to assist with take-offs and quote preparation, along with internal office and operations support, so they can focus on what they do best: selling, networking, and building long-term industry relationships.
Position Overview
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for developing new business, maintaining existing client relationships, and representing Cambridge Floors in a professional and knowledgeable manner. You will identify opportunities, generate leads, follow up with clients, and help provide tailored flooring solutions based on each project’s needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, personable, organized, and driven to grow within a well-established flooring company.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, designers, contractors, builders, restoration companies, property managers, and other industry professionals.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow Cambridge Floors’ project portfolio.
- Prospect and qualify new leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, site visits, and industry events.
- Promote Cambridge Floors’ products and services in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Work closely with estimators and internal support staff to help prepare accurate quotes and project information.
- Follow up with clients regularly to maintain strong communication and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the internal sales, estimating, project coordination, and operations teams to ensure a smooth client experience.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, product knowledge, and competitor activity.
- Represent Cambridge Floors at trade shows, networking events, client meetings, and industry functions.
- Track sales activity, opportunities, and project progress as required.

Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates with 2–3 years of outside sales experience in the flooring industry or a construction-related field.
- Flooring experience is an asset, but not required. If you have strong sales experience and are willing to learn, we encourage you to apply.
- A proven ability to build relationships, generate leads, and close sales.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence working with contractors, builders, designers, and industry professionals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple opportunities at once.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
