Compensation
Base Wage: $15.50-17.50/hour
ECE Wage Top-Up:
- ECE Level 1 - $2.64/hour
- ECE Level 2 - $5.05/hour
The ECE wage top-up is funded by the Government of Alberta and is subject to eligibility requirements and funding availability.
Hours of Work
This full-time role primarily supports one assigned Kindergarten Out-of-School Care student while assisting with transportation and broader program support.
Anticipated School-Year Schedule
Transportation:
- 7:15 AM – 8:30 AM
- 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Dedicated 1:1 Support (Kindergarten Student):
Approximate schedule: 7.75 hours/day (38.75 hours/week).
Summer hours are anticipated to transition into full-time One-on-One support, subject to operational needs.
Hours may vary based on attendance, enrolment, staffing, transportation, funding, and operational requirements.

Role
This full-time role provides dedicated 1:1 support to a Kindergarten-aged Out-of-School Care student, promoting participation, communication, successful transitions, emotional regulation, inclusion, and safety within the program.
The successful candidate will build a meaningful, consistent relationship with the child while supporting daily routines and participation in program activities.
This role also includes transfer care and transportation responsibilities, while supporting the broader program where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Primary: 1:1 Aide - Kindergarten OSC Student
- Provide individualized support to an assigned Kindergarten-aged child during Out-of-School Care programming
- Support emotional regulation, routines, transitions, participation, and safety
- Implement consistent support strategies in collaboration with educators, leadership, and family/external supports where applicable
- Foster a calm, safe, and inclusive experience for the child
- Participate in ongoing professional development, coaching, and training to support child outcomes, strengthen practice, and align with Stars Montessori Academy’s standards and expectations.
Primary: Transfer Care Specialist
- Safely transport children to and from program locations
- Maintain supervision, safety, and transportation procedures
- Maintain required licensing and driver documentation
Role Flexibility & Operational Needs
As this role is primarily tied to supporting an assigned child, duties, schedules, and hours may be adjusted based on the child’s attendance, support needs, enrolment, funding, or operational requirements.
Where appropriate, alternate program support or operational duties may be assigned based on qualifications and centre needs.
Qualifications
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 1 or Level 2 Certification required
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certification
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Child Intervention Record Check
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (Non-GDL)
- Class 4 Driver’s Licence preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean 5-Year Driver’s Abstract
- Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada
Experience
- 1-2 Years of experience working in a licensed childcare or educational setting preferred
- Experience supporting children with additional needs is an asset
