The Fickle Fig is looking for experienced, professional, and dedicated team players with outstanding baking and technical skills to join our expanding team.
As an experienced baker with enthusiasm and a passion for quality food, you will work directly next to our bakery manager or supervisor and will be responsible for ensuring preparation, cooking, taste and presentation are consistently of a high standard.
The Fickle Fig has three locations: one in North Saanich, one in the heart of downtown Sidney, BC, and one in The Victoria International Airport.
This is a full time day-baking position, 40 hrs/week. The ideal candidate has weekday availability, and 1-2 days weekend availability is an extreme asset. There is some possible flexibility with shift times (mornings/afternoons).
The position entails following recipes and executing a standard menu of bars, brownies, cupcakes, cakes, and cookies. Our bakery location is right on Beacon Avenue, in Sidney, BC with street parking and a town employee parking lot in the vicinity.
Wage $23/hr + tip out
Skills and experience required:
-At least 2 years of commercial baking experience, credit given for baking related education.
-Efficient work ethic.
-High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
-Positive and high-agency personality with the ability to work under pressure.
-Be able to work independently, and as part of a small team.
-Be willing and eager to learn.
-Use creativity and ingenuity.
-Be a problem solver.
Successful candidates must complete a paid probationary period of three months.
