About the Clinic
We are a growing specialty allergy and immunology clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to adults and children with allergic and immunologic conditions. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated LPN or RN to join our team and help deliver exceptional care in a collaborative outpatient setting.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will support physicians and patients through allergy assessments, allergy testing, immunotherapy administration, patient education, and ongoing clinical care. This position is ideal for a nurse who enjoys building relationships with patients and working in a specialized ambulatory care environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake and assessment.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and clinical information.
- Prepare patients for physician consultations and allergy-related procedures.
- Administer allergy skin testing and monitor patient responses.
- Administer allergen immunotherapy injections according to clinic protocols.
- Observe patients for adverse reactions and respond appropriately to emergencies, including anaphylaxis.
- Educate patients regarding allergy management, medications, immunotherapy, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
- Assist physicians with clinical procedures and patient care.
- Ensure exam rooms, supplies, medications, and emergency equipment are maintained and stocked.
- Follow infection prevention and control practices and clinic policies.
QualificationsRequired
- Current registration and good standing as an LPN or RN in Alberta.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
Preferred
- Experience in allergy, immunology, respiratory medicine, family practice, pediatrics, ambulatory care, or internal medicine.
- Experience administering injections and monitoring patients post-treatment.
- Knowledge of anaphylaxis recognition and emergency response.
- Experience with allergy testing and immunotherapy administration is considered an asset; training will be provided to the right candidate.
