Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead Hand
Main Purpose of Job:
Landscape maintenance crews help to maintain beautiful outdoor spaces for our commercial and residential clients.
Reports to:
Manager

Requirements:
- Experience and training in landscape maintenance
- Some horticulture training is preferred
- Ability to both take and give direction in a team environment
- Must enjoy working outdoors
- Have a keen eye for detail and take pride in their work
Responsibilities:
- Lead a maintenance crew on various residential and commercial properties
- Supervise, train, and coach other crew members, and delegate tasks to ensure timely project completion
- Communicate effectively with clients on-site when needed and address questions professionally
- Help ensure a safe workplace by conducting pre-trip inspections, housekeeping, hazard identification and communication, and near-miss/incident reporting
- Learn and use company tools and tracking software efficiently and consistently
- Drive a truck with a trailer, and operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely and efficiently
- Cut grass with riding, stand-on, and push mowers and string trimmers
- Trim hedges and edge gardens, using trimmers, edgers, and hand tools
- Execute planting, weeding, pruning, and mulching projects
- Leaf, litter, and debris cleanup required in spring and fall
- Horticultural and plant knowledge is a strong asset

Working Conditions:
- In early spring and late fall maintenance crew members may be asked to work in cold weather temperatures where they need to dress warmly.
- In mid summer maintenance crew members may be asked to work in hot weather temperatures and need to drink plenty of fluids, be responsible about sunscreen use, wear hats and ensure they take appropriate breaks.
- In all seasons, crew members need to be prepared to be asked to work in rainy conditions and to bring appropriate gear such as rain jackets.
- Crews can expect to occasionally be exposed to chemicals such as gasoline and lubricants.
Physical Requirements:
Strength Guidelines
- Crew members can expect to be asked to lift up to 50 lbs.
Motion Parameters
- Crew members can expect to be on their feet for long periods of time. The job requires walking, squatting and kneeling.
