ICSS is currently looking for a residential support worker with a willingness and passion for supporting individuals. You will work directly with individuals in helping set goals and making healthy life choices. The worker will assist in all aspects of daily living in a total care environment. You will plan and execute activities that promote learning and development in daily living and life skills.
PART TIME - Rotation and hours to be determined - minimum 48 hours bi-weekly.
ROTATIONS ARE A MIXTURE OF DAYS, EVENINGS, & WEEKENDS (EVERY 2ND WEEKEND)
Our main office is located in Orleans. This position is in Cumberland, Ontario, at our Royal Orchard residence.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required:
- Experience with challenging crisis-type situations is preferred.
- DSW, or relevant education and experience in the field.
- Experience with individualized plans.
- Cooking and cleaning skills.
- Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to set priorities to manage time within deadlines.
- Ability to follow direction and work as a member of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and support new and unacquainted individuals with minimal information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand and promote the rights and responsibilities of the individuals.
- Work independently or within a team to prioritize and complete shift requirements while still meeting the individual’s needs.
- Provide support to individuals by carrying out duties and following their support plans, considering their choices, needs, and actively involving them.
- Participate in assessment, goal setting, and program planning for the individual.
- Provide support in all areas of personal hygiene.
- Follow through with the individual’s prescribed dietary needs.
- Perform household cleaning and cooking duties.
- Develop and maintain respectful and positive cooperative working relationships to contribute to the integrated, seamless delivery of services from ICSS, including individuals, staff, families, etc.
Conditions of Employment:
- Possess a valid driver’s licence and vehicle.
- Possess a recent three-year driver’s abstract.
- Possess valid vehicle insurance.
- Must provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Must provide a valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
- Must provide a letter of good health and documentation indicating all up-to-date applicable immunizations.
