Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Construction Technician specializing in Asbestos Abatement, Fiber Optic Installation, and Concrete Coring. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting various construction projects, ensuring safety, precision, and quality throughout all phases. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse tasks including demolition, installation, and restoration with a focus on safety compliance and technical excellence. The Construction Technician will collaborate with project managers and skilled trades to deliver successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute project plans.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery for concrete coring, fiber optic installation, and asbestos removal.
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and tile laying to meet project specifications.
- Assist with carpentry tasks such as cabinet installation and framing as needed.
- Conduct construction estimating for materials and labor requirements.
- Execute caulking, painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, welding, flooring installation, and restoration tasks to support project completion.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols related to asbestos handling and fiber optic work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and ensure quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction trades including carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, or related fields.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating processes.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and specialized machinery such as concrete coring rigs.
- Familiarity with asbestos abatement procedures and fiber optic installation techniques is preferred.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of construction work.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights or in confined spaces.
- Relevant certifications or training in asbestos handling or specialized construction areas are a plus.
