Responsibilities:
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure they are in proper working condition
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles as needed
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption and other relevant information
- Communicate with dispatchers and customers and other team members
-Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and functionality
Skills:
-Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving and operating heavy equipment
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations; freight handling procedures
- Ability to safely maneuver large vehicles in various weather conditions
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members & building staff
- Basic automotive repair knowledge for minor maintenance tasks on the truck
- Ability to lift & move heavy materials and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo
