QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master of Social Work, or equivalent master’s degree.
· A current member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and/or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
· Training in trauma informed practice and attachment theory and treatment.
EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum Standard: At least five (5) years experience relevant mental health treatment.
· Demonstrated progressive supervisory experience.
SKILLS:
· Advanced knowledge of the biopsychosocial presentation, determinants and precipitators of mental health and mental health disorders.
· Seasoned knowledge of a wide range of therapeutic treatment options as well as the skill and ability to provide such treatment to people of all ages with mental health issues.
· Advanced knowledge of the theory and practice research related to children’s mental health treatment, including therapeutic work with families.
· Advanced knowledge of clinical supervision theories and techniques, including motivation, education, evaluation, performance standards, and ethical guidelines for the provision of clinical supervision.
· Working knowledge of the different referral agencies/services available within the SCCYS catchment area.
· Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
· Adherence to a professional code of ethics.
· Working knowledge of the legislation governing the practice of mental health treatment.
· The ability to work independently with minimum of supervision yet remain part of a multi-disciplinary team; adaptability.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills with clients, parents and professional staff as evidenced by:
o concisely written clinical reports
o detailed treatment programs, and,
· effective verbal presentations to the relevant community, peer group and service consumers.
