JOB OVERVIEW
- Manufacturing process quality improvement through identification of risk and participation in improvement efforts.
- Review customer requirements and specifications, interpreting them into our process and standards, along with guiding the relevant team members.
- Analyze manufacturing and customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions and monitor their effectiveness.
- Assistance in managing and auditing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) per customer and/or AS9100/ISO 9000 requirements.
- Develop quality plans, FMEA, and control plans, along with preparing documentation needed for PPAP requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Maintain accurate records of quality control procedures and inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports on quality performance and non-conformities.
- Resolve quality-related issues promptly and work with the engineering and production on NCR investigations and process or product improvements.
- Assist in improvement opportunities from the analysis of data gathered from the quality operations and records.
- Review all data obtained during all quality control activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures and report any opportunities for improvement.
- Record and address manufacturing issues, rejects, initiate, and manage internal corrective actions.
- Regular Product/Process Quality Performance reporting. Analyze performance data to prioritize and execute improvement activities. (KPI)
- Generate quality procedures and documentation to support QMS registrations.
- Support for Production QC staff as needed and work in collaboration with Supervisors to resolve quality issues.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and make recommendations to enhance quality control measures.
- Work with manufacturing/ engineering and manufacturing teams for all product quality-related issues and improvements.
- Lead and/or provide support for process design, development, and improvement activities related to product quality and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Performing dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured components and assemblies against the drawings and specifications.
OTHER DUTIES
- Enforce company standards regarding quality, safety and security regulations, environmental compliance and good housekeeping practices.
- Assist Quality Management with periodic audits
- Perform other duties within their skill sets as assigned by the Senior and/or Quality Management directive.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education and/or University or College Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Quality engineering or similar disciplines (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a quality control or quality assurance role that was ISO9001 or AS9100-certified in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Formal education and training in both Quality and/or Engineering preferred.
- A thorough knowledge of product development in metal fabrication or machining processes is an asset.

- Outstanding organizational skills, enabling effective multitasking and project management.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications into our process and quality plans.
- Good working knowledge of GD &T, FMEA, Control plans and Product Quality/Program Quality Plans.
- Good computer literacy and ability to work with computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with ERP systems, prefer VISUAL INFO.
OTHER SKILLS/TRAINING
- ASQ certifications, an asset
- Use of SolidWorks as an asset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Fast-paced manufacturing shop floor environment, the processes are repetitive and involve close attention to detail and frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination.
- Require compliance with health and safety policies, safe work practices, and legislation (OHSA).
- Ensure the work area is kept clean and organized.
