About the Opportunity
Wellons is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Project Engineer in Port Kells (Surrey), BC. In this multifaceted role, you will supervise and designate work to Engineering staff and Draftspersons assigned to specific projects.
Specifically, you will:
- Assign work and provide direction to the team based on the contract specifications;
- Perform Engineering calculations to support the design of the project equipment.
- Select suppliers and equipment based on performance and price;
- Order long lead-time items;
- Coordinate work between various internal departments, sub-contractors and the Customer;
- Work closely with the project management team to monitor and control the project cost and schedule;
- Provide support to Project Management, Sales, Shop, Installation and Service departments as well as the customer;
- Visit project sites and address clients concerns when required;
- Approve/issue drawings for fabrication and installation;
- Maintain the quality, technical and contractual content of the project;
- Communicate with appropriate regulatory bodies such as TSBC, ABSA and others as required.
- Generate reports for the President or Chief Engineer when a site investigation has been completed.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or the Project Engineering Manager.
Although equivalencies will be considered, this is an outstanding opportunity for a highly skilled leader who ideally has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, chemical or electrical engineering and P.Eng status (or working towards this) would be highly desirable.
Along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a custom engineering and manufacturing environment, you have a strong understanding of project time management and a willingness to take the initiative to conclude assigned projects on time and on budget.
The ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications is essential.
Pay: $68,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
