Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hook Lift Driver to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating Hook lift trucks to transport waste and recyclable materials, and deliver trees on a flat bed with some manual tarping as well as light labour involved.
This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate hook lift trucks to pick up, transport, and deliver containers to designated locations
- Load and unload materials in compliance with company procedures and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Perform basic maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers regarding schedules and service requirements.
- Assist with the operation of forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed during loading and unloading processes.
- Tarp load and unload plants as needed when delivering trees.
- Adhere to all local province, and federal regulations related to commercial driving and waste transportation.
Requirements
- Valid DZ Driver’s License (minimum requirement)
- MUST have prior hands-on experience operating a hook lift (roll-off) truck — no exceptions.
- MUST have experience driving BOTH (standard) AND automatic transmissions — no exceptions at this time.
- Proven 3 Year experience in commercial driving within a similar industry preferred
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Basic mechanical/automotive knowledge for routine vehicle maintenance is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Clean driving abstract required
