Job Description: We are now hiring on behalf of our client in the manufacturing industry for an experienced Fitter/Fabricator to join their team!
This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience assembling complex weldments with minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent.
Compensation: $34.88 an hour to start + $1.00 shift premium on nights
Shift Structure:
Day Shift - 6:00 am to 2:30 pm – Monday to Friday
Night Shift – 2:30 pm – 1:00 am – Monday to Thursday
Key Responsibilities:
· Interpret and work from blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
· Fit and assemble large, complex weldments within specified tolerances, often without the use of jigs or fixtures.
· Accurately work from center lines to ensure proper alignment and fit-up.
· Perform welding tasks using metal core wire, dual shield flux core wire, and other welding processes.
· Operate arc air gouging equipment, oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, and related tools.
· Utilize hand and power tools including grinders, cut-off tools, die grinders, hammers, and sledgehammers.
· Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures and other precision measuring instruments.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
· Operate lift trucks and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
· Troubleshoot and resolve fitting and fabrication issues independently.
· Work collaboratively with team members while also being capable of working independently.
Requirements/Qualifications:
· Minimum 3 years of experience as a fitter/fabricator within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
· Must be able to operate lift trucks and cranes in a safe manner.
· Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
· Proven experience assembling large, complex weldments with minimal reliance on fixtures.
· Proficiency in welding processes including metal core and dual shield flux core wire.
· Experience with arc air gouging, oxy-fuel torches, and related fabrication tools.
· Ability to accurately use measuring tools and maintain tight tolerances.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
· Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes is an asset.
· Must own required tools and equipment including welding helmets, CSA-approved protective footwear & basic fitting and measuring tools.
· Must be able to work from a center line and possess the flexibility to work on either the day OR night shift, and work overtime as needed.
