Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Massage Therapy Instructor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess strong teaching skills, supervisory experience, and a solid understanding of medical terminology, patient care, and laboratory practices related to massage therapy. This role involves developing and delivering comprehensive instructional programs to students pursuing massage therapy certification, ensuring they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers. The instructor will also incorporate LMS platforms such as Blackboard and research-based methods to enhance learning outcomes. A background in healthcare settings such as hospitals, acute care, or pediatrics is highly desirable. Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive massage therapy courses, including classroom lectures, laboratory sessions, and practical demonstrations.
- Supervise students during hands-on training to ensure proper technique, safety protocols, and adherence to industry standards.
- Utilize LMS platforms like Blackboard to organize course materials, assessments, and student progress tracking.
- Incorporate research findings and current industry practices into curriculum development to maintain educational relevance.
- Assess student performance through examinations, practical evaluations, and clinical assessments; provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and clinical hours.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate concepts of acute care, hospital procedures, nursing practices, and pediatrics into the curriculum where applicable.
- Stay updated on advancements in massage therapy techniques, medical terminology, and patient care protocols through continuous research and professional development.
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in an educational or clinical setting with a focus on massage therapy or healthcare education.
- Proficiency with LMS platforms such as Blackboard for course management and student engagement.
- Strong research skills to incorporate evidence-based practices into teaching modules.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to massage therapy, acute care environments, hospital procedures, nursing practices, and pediatrics.
- Effective teaching skills with experience in classroom instruction and laboratory supervision.
