Our client, located in North York is looking for a Leasing Manager to join the team!
The Leasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, review, negotiation support, and ongoing administration of all lease documentation across the company's portfolio of more than 100 retail locations. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all lease agreements while minimizing legal and financial risk.
The leasing Manager serves as the organization's subject matter expert on commercial lease administration. The successful candidate will manage lease documentation throughout the lease lifecycle, monitor critical lease obligations, review rent payment schedules, and collaborate with internal departments and external landlords to ensure all contractual commitments are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the administration of all commercial leases across a portfolio of 100+ retail locations.
- Prepare, review, interpret, and maintain lease agreements, amendments, renewals, extensions, assignments, and other related legal documentation.
- Ensure all lease documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies and contractual obligations.
- Act as the primary internal resource for interpreting commercial lease terms, rights, obligations, and critical dates.
- Monitor lease milestones, including renewal options, rent escalations, expiry dates, and notice periods.
- Review and validate rent schedules, additional rent charges, common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, taxes, and other landlord billings to ensure accuracy.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure rent payments and other lease-related financial obligations are processed accurately and on time.
- Identify potential legal or financial risks within lease agreements and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain organized and accurate lease records, databases, and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with landlords, legal counsel, real estate representatives, and internal stakeholders regarding lease matters and documentation.
- Support the team with lease-related reporting, portfolio analysis, and special projects.
- Continuously improve lease administration processes, controls, and documentation standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lease administration, lease management, or real estate operations.
- Strong knowledge of commercial leasing principles, legal terminology, and lease documentation.
- Experience managing a multi-site retail lease portfolio is considered a strong asset.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with lease administration software is preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
