Sturgeon Creek II Retirement Residence located in Winnipeg, Manitoba is currently seeking a Full time Handy Man, to support our Maintenance Manager with the day‑to‑day upkeep of our community. This role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, clean, and well‑functioning environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Full Time: Days and Evenings
The Handy Man assists with preventative maintenance, general repairs, inspections, and responds to resident maintenance requests while working collaboratively with other departments to minimize disruption to daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of building systems and grounds
- Support maintenance and minor repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems
- Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests and emergency situations
- Assist with maintenance of common areas, equipment, and the pool area
- Help maintain inventory of supplies and materials
- Work closely with other departments to ensure maintenance activities do not disrupt resident services
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in building or facility maintenance is an asset
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety systems
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, safety‑conscious, and team‑oriented
- Ability to take directions and support the Maintenance Manager as required
