Position Overview
We’re seeking a highly skilled Freelance Apparel Graphic Designer with a strong understanding of the apparel market and the ability to bring bold, sport‑inspired concepts to life. This project‑based role involves creating graphics across jerseys, tees, hoodies, headwear, and other apparel categories. Work is primarily remote, with the possibility of occasional onsite meetings in Oakville depending on project needs. Projects are provided on an as‑needed basis based on scope and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Design high‑impact graphics for apparel collections including teamwear, licensed merchandise, and custom client orders.
- Create placement graphics, all‑over prints, patches, trims, and labels that align with our brand aesthetic.
- Translate design concepts into production‑ready artwork and deliver clean, organized files
- Stay current on trends in streetwear, athletic apparel, and global design.
- Prepare detailed tech packs and mock-ups for production partners.
- Ensure all artwork is properly formatted for screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, and other print applications.
- Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple projects.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in apparel or fashion graphic design (sportswear or streetwear strongly preferred).
- Strong portfolio showcasing garment‑specific graphic work.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Solid understanding of garment construction, printing techniques, and material limitations.
- Ability to adapt to various graphic aesthetics (bold/edgy, clean/minimalist, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently on project‑based timelines.
- Passion for apparel, branding, and sport culture.
- Experience with licensed or team‑based apparel is an asset.
- Knowledge of surface embellishments like screen printing, embroidery, sublimation, and heat‑transfer processes.
Requirement
A portfolio or presentation of work is required and must demonstrate your creativity, technical skill, and experience designing for apparel.
