Job Description
Snowy Owl Transport is looking for an experienced Freight Broker – Carrier Sales professional to join our brokerage team.
This role is responsible for sourcing and negotiating trucks to move customer freight, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring loads are covered efficiently and profitably. The position requires someone who understands the trucking industry, can negotiate confidently with carriers, and can think critically when solving scheduling and capacity challenges.
The ideal candidate has experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, dispatching, or trucking operations and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where quick decisions and strong communication are required.
Responsibilities
- Source and secure trucks to cover customer freight across Canada and the United States
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers while maintaining brokerage margin targets
- Build and maintain a network of reliable carriers and owner-operators
- Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules and ensure loads move on time
- Ensure carriers meet safety, insurance, and compliance requirements
- Enter and manage load information in the company TMS (Axon)
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to ensure customer service standards are met
- Manage multiple loads simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Qualifications
- Previous experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, dispatching, or trucking operations
- Strong knowledge of trucking regulations, hours of service, and load planning
- Proven ability to negotiate rates and manage carrier relationships
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Confident communication skills and ability to deal with difficult conversations
- Strong computer skills and ability to manage high email volume (Gmail) and TMS systems
- Experience using Axon TMS is considered an asset

Compensation
Competitive salary based on experience. Performance incentives may be available for high performers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
