Overview
Danby's Richmond is looking for an experienced, reliable Line Cook to join our growing kitchen team. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can confidently run a station, and works well both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items efficiently while adhering to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination
- Support the team during busy service periods by managing multiple orders with accuracy and speed
- Prepare and cook menu items to our standards.
- Complete daily prep including cutting, portioning, and food preparation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workstation.
- Work efficiently during busy services while producing consistent, quality food.
- Follow recipes and presentation standards.
- Support the kitchen team and help keep service running smoothly.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service in a restaurant or food industry setting
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude under pressure
- Basic understanding of meal preparation processes and kitchen operations
- Previous line cook experience in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Strong knife skills and solid cooking knowledge.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Open availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Reliable, motivated, and eager to continue learning.
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
