We are currently seeking a Chainsaw Operator/Labourer to join our team for the exciting career in Urban Forestry. Tree Works provides on and off the job training, taking you from the ground to the crown. Job Description:
- Assist crew supervisor with job planning, worksite setup and safety / hazard assessment
- Participate in onsite training of safe work practices and equipment operation
- Operate equipment such as chainsaw, brushsaw and woodchipper
- Work as part of a crew in removal, disposal and cleanup of vegetation and debris
- Assist crew supervisor with efficient movement of the crew from one location to the next
- Willingness to learn how to operate Bucket Trucks, Stump Grinders, Wood Chippers, Grapple Trucks, Skid Steers, Excavators
- Use Radio headsets to communicate with Peers
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with clean drivers abstract
- Class 5 Drivers License
- Experience working on or around forestry equipment: Bucket trucks, Chain saws, Wood Chippers, Stump Grinders
- Knowledge of Knots and rigging
- Basic tree climbing
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Able to work as part of a team in a physically demanding role
- WHIMIS and First Aid, Fall Arrest, Electrical Awareness
- Own transportation to Yard
