DMC Recruitment is partnering with a well-established glazing contractor in the Greater Toronto Area that specializes in glass installation, replacement, and repair across commercial and industrial projects.
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add a Glazing Technician to their existing service team. This is currently a vacant position they are looking to fill to aid their growing team. This role involves installing, repairing, and replacing a variety of glass systems in active, occupied buildings. The ideal candidate is professional, technically skilled, and comfortable interacting directly with clients, property managers, and building staff while delivering high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace commercial glass systems including doors, windows, storefronts, and other glazing components.
- Perform glass replacements, adjustments, and repairs while ensuring proper fit, sealing, and safety compliance.
- Work in active commercial buildings while coordinating with property managers, building staff, and clients.
- Safely handle and transport glass materials and related hardware during installations and service work.
- Respond to service calls and occasional emergency repairs to address glass damage or safety concerns.
- Maintain inventory of materials, glass units, and hardware required for service and installation work.
- Communicate professionally with clients on-site and provide updates on work being completed.
- Ensure all work is completed according to company safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and building regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and service details.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial glazing installation or service.
- Experience working with storefront systems, doors, windows, or curtain wall systems is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls or projects.
- Professional and client-focused with strong communication skills.
- Comfortable working in occupied buildings and client-facing environments.
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong attention to quality and safety.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
