About the role
The candidate will manage the Systems Engineering and Flight Operations department for the Skunk Works team in Canada. This team is responsible for systems engineering activities, testing, supporting, and sustaining products in the uncrewed systems market including Lockheed Martin NorthStar Vision-Based Navigation software and the Vehicle Control Station (VCS) product line.
In this role, they will:

Lead a team that will work alongside the software development teams to manage a set of software products from product definition and planning through release and production

Develop and oversee systems engineering processes used for product development

Develop and oversee human factors engineering processes to ensure software products are safe, effective and easy-to-use

Oversee our flight operations team as they safely provide testing of our software products, support business development in demonstration events, and provide pilot training to our customers/end-users.

Support the development of Product Roadmaps and schedules with internal/external stakeholders

Collaborate with other disciplines including Program Management, Software Engineering and Quality Assurance in an Agile software development environment

Work with direct reports to facilitate their career development and ensure they thrive

Support Business Development with product demonstrations on an as-needed basis

Support strategy development for the Skunk Works team in Canada

Support open-standards development for uncrewed vehicles such as, but not limited to, NATO STANAG 4586 and NATO STANAG 4817

Travel occasionally to support customer meetings, trade shows & open standards development meetings

What you bring to the role
- 10 years+ experience with development of software products in the uncrewed systems domain

5 years+ experience with open standards in the uncrewed systems domain such as NATO STANAG 4586, STANAG 4817 and/or JAUS

Domain experience of uncrewed systems across all group levels (Group 1-5), with an emphasis on Group 2+ systems

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 15 years or more of professional experience; or 13 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree

Need to have the experience, drive and demonstrated capability to lead a team and multiple programs to provide technical excellence and mission success

Requires excellent leadership skills, including building relationships with team members, direct reports and stakeholders

Be self-driven and results oriented, capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently and across an ambiguous and uncertain landscape

Capable of frequent interaction with high-level internal and external customers as well as cross-discipline and cross-functional collaboration

Excellent written, verbal and customer interface skills

$119,000 - $156,000
