Argus is a fully equipped machining facility based in Nisku, Alberta. We manufacture a diverse range of superior quality OCTG products and operate over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing and threading space.
We are currently hiring a motivated, safety-focused Millwright Journeyperson or 3rd- or 4th-Year Apprentice to join our maintenance team at our Nisku facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a troubleshooting mindset who is curious, hands-on, and motivated to repair, maintain, and improve equipment and machine tools in a stable industrial environment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting equipment, machine tools, and facility-related systems within Argus.
As part of the Maintenance team, you will play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting safe, efficient operations. Responsibilities include:

Complete routine preventative maintenance on equipment and machines in accordance with Argus preventative maintenance task sheets and schedules.

Deliver maintenance and repair schedules as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, ensuring quality and customer requirements are met.

Support current schedules for repair and maintenance of Argus machines, equipment, and buildings.

Evaluate machinery and equipment condition and report concerns, risks, or required repairs to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Troubleshoot and respond to emergency or unscheduled breakdowns on machines and equipment that are not working.

Communicate downtime information, repair status, and maintenance needs clearly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Read and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, and technical documentation to assess machine functionality and complete repairs or adjustments.

Assemble, fit, align, adjust, and repair machinery and equipment as required.

Advise the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager when machine parts, specialty tools, or support items are required to keep equipment running.

Operate shop equipment and use tools as required to assess and complete maintenance activities.

Work collaboratively with operations, supervisors, electricians, welders, engineers, and other trades.

Support a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.

Contribute to department KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Journeyperson Millwright Certification, Alberta-recognized trade certification, and/or Red Seal Certification; or current registration as a 3rd or 4th Year Millwright Apprentice through the Alberta Apprenticeship Program.

Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, machining, heavy equipment, steel, or similar environment is considered an asset.

Experience operating, maintaining, or repairing machine tools or industrial equipment is considered an asset.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a curious, hands-on mindset.

Ability to read and understand drawings, manuals, specifications, and maintenance documentation.

Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and rotating equipment systems is considered an asset.

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Basic computer skills.

Knowledge of Quality Assurance requirements and Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing principles is considered an asset.

Machine shop and industrial manufacturing environment.

Extended walking and standing with limited sitting.

Use of required personal protective equipment.

Regular lifting up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.

May be required to respond to breakdowns, urgent repairs, or changing operational priorities.
