Position Overview
Do you enjoy playing musical chairs, are great with puzzles, and are very good at connecting to people? Under the guidance of the Dispatch Supervisor, the Dispatcher plans and coordinates tugboat movements, acting as a key link between internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures efficient resource use, compliance with customer requirements, and prioritizes safety, environmental care, and operational excellence.
- Schedule 1: 4-week rotation
- 7 consecutive days on day shift (9.5-hour shifts), followed by 7 days off.
- 7 consecutive days on night shift (9.5-hour shifts), followed by 7 days off.
- Schedule 2: 5-week rotation
- 7 consecutive days on day shift (12-hour shifts), followed by 7 days off.
- 7 consecutive days on night shift (12-hour shifts), followed by 14 days off.
Training Period: During the first 90 days, schedules will vary based on training needs and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule tugboats for maneuvers and monitor operations from start to finish.
- Coordinate communication and crew planning, including rotations and callouts.
- Record maneuvers, operational details, and maintain accurate data for KPIs and resource planning.
- Forecast and verify ship movements in collaboration with ports and agents.
- Manage administrative processes for marine employment, payroll, and service documentation.
- Support departmental initiatives promoting continuous improvement and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in business, logistics, or marine studies plus 1 year in a high-performance team environment; or 3 years in a time-sensitive, resource-focused role.
- Preference for marine or dispatching experience.
- Strong resilience and proven ability to manage stress during demanding and conflictive interactions.
- Intermediate MS Office (Excel) proficiency.
- High spatial and verbal reasoning ability.
