Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our dynamic Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing employee relations, talent acquisition, HRIS systems, and various HR projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to organizational growth while developing your expertise in human resources management, change management, and HR technology platforms such as UKG, Dayforce, SAP SuccessFactors, and others. The HR Generalist will support the full employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture in a fast paced unionized manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage talent aquisition and onboarding activities for both unionized and non-unionized employees including job postings, candidate screening, testing, background checks, offer preparation, internal transfers, onboarding, orientation, and training coordination.
- Administer attendance and absence management programs, including LTD, STD, WSIB, disability case management, and return-to-work planning.
- Support the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and programs, including handbook content, attendance practices, and legislative compliance requirements.
- Participate in joint health and safety meetings, workplace inspections, and related safety program administration.
- Coordinate and/or deliver internal and external training programs related to safety, leadership, and workplace policies.
- Support employee and labour relations matters, conducting investigations, corrective action, and day-to-day guidance for leaders and employees.
- Maintain employee performance and training records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
- Maintain accurate employee data in the UKG HRM system, ensuring timely data entry, record updates, and ongoing system upkeep to support HR operations and reporting.
- Contribute to HR and cross-functional projects as required.
- Maintain physical and electronic employee communications, including bulletin boards and internal notices.
- Organize employee events and celebrations.
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports to support HR operations and decision-making.
- Provide coaching, advice, and practical HR support to leaders and employees across the organization.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
