Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team for our Production facilities in Regina, SK and Drummondville, QC. In this role, you will coordinate the development and implementation of safety protocols, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of safety across our production facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of occupational health standards and environmental regulations, contributing to a safe and sustainable workplace in Saskatchewan and Quebec.
Responsibilities
Safety Program Support
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the health and safety management system and site health and safety programs and environmental programs to ensure compliance with Company, provincial and local regulations.
- Support the development and updating of safe work procedures, hazard assessments, and safety documentation.
- Promote safe work practices and a strong safety culture across the organization.
Inspections & Hazard Identification
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist supervisors and employees to identify hazards, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on completion.
- Assist with site/jobsite safety audits and compliance reviews.
Incident Reporting & Investigations
- Support reporting and documentation of incidents, near misses, and hazards.
- Participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Track health and safety metrics and ensure required notifications and documentation are completed.
Training & Orientation
- Deliver or coordinate health and safety orientations for new employees, contractors, and visitors. Work closely with site resources such as, HR and operations, on ensuring orientations are completed in a timely manner and documented appropriately.
- Assist with scheduling and tracking required training (e.g., WHMIS, fall protection, PPE, etc.).
- Provide or assist in coordinating ongoing health and safety coaching, communication and training to workers and supervisors.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company requirements.
- Assist in the maintenance of records such as inspections, training logs, equipment checks, corrective actions, and incident documentation.
- Assist with the administration of health and safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Act as a resource for the Joint Health & Safety Committee, liaise with management and regulatory agencies.
- Assist in the procurement and implementation of new products, tools and equipment from a health, safety and environmental perspective ensuring ongoing health, safety and environmental compliance and necessary training is provided.
Emergency Preparedness
- Support emergency response planning and drills (e.g., fire, evacuation, first aid).
- Ensure emergency equipment is available, inspected, and maintained (first aid kits, eyewash stations, etc.).
Environmental Monitoring
- Manage environmental, health and safety risks, including waste management, hazardous chemical handling, and, in some roles, environmental compliance.
Continuing Education and Compliance
- Maintain a working knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Research occupational health, safety and environmental information to assure the best available methods and equipment are adopted to minimize the hazards in the workplace.
- Support the company's sustainability initiatives by promoting environmentally responsible practices.

Experience
- Bilingual is required.
- Proven experience in service or manufacturing environments or industrial settings with a focus on health, safety, or environmental management.
- Post-Secondary diploma/certificate in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, or a related field are preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial/mechanical service industry.
- Knowledge of applicable health, safety and environmental legislation and standards in multiple provinces.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with employees at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, evaluate, and positively influence others
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and safety reporting systems.
- Ability to conduct inspections and write clear reports.
- Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and objectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse teams effectively. Pay: $60,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
