Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Accounts Payable Specialist to oversee and manage the company's accounts payable functions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in accounting software, data entry, and account reconciliation, with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely processing of all vendor payments. This role requires leadership skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams, to maintain efficient financial operations. Familiarity with Sage, Excel, email is highly desirable. The Lead Accounts Payable professional will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting overall accounting processes.
Responsibilities
Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
Manage data entry and account reconciliation activities
Mentor team members on accounts payable procedures and best practices.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards related to financial transactions.
Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions for audit purposes and assist in audit preparations.
Support account reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
Support general office and administrative and accounting duties as required.
Strengths:
Proven experience working with accounting software- Sage & Excel
Ability to manage and complete a high volume of work
Strong background in accounts payable management, bookkeeping, and account reconciliation.
Experience with inter-company transactions
Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand accounts payable data with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills combined with effective communication abilities to collaborate across teams.
Experience & Education
5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Background in Accounts Payable and general office duties
Post‑secondary courses in Bookkeeping or Accounting are an asset
Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
