Right now we are seeking a Registered Nurse for our 13 West Oncology Unit.
Our Oncology nurses specialize in treating people with cancer serving as their first line of communication as they help to coordinate and deliver many aspects of a patient’s treatment, including administering medications, fluids and cancer treatments such as chemotherapy. They are caring individuals who are dedicated to assisting patients as they undergo treatment.

Reporting Relationship: Clinical Manager, Oncology
Hourly Rate: $41.15 - $58.98
Hours: Must be able to work 8 & 12 hour rotating shifts – Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends

Position Responsibilities:

Administration of Chemotherapy. The teaching and certification process is provided by the hospital

Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
-
Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
-
Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.

Resource/team leader responsibilities.
-
Preceptorship of nursing students and Mentorship of new nursing staff.
Qualifications:
-
Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
-
Current BCLS certification.
-
CNA certification in Oncology Nursing is preferred.
-
Current DeSouza course in Oncology Foundations, preferred.
-
Current DeSouza Oncology Chemotherapy/Biotherapy, preferred.
-
2 years recent experience in oncology.

Current Oncology and or Palliative specialty designation from CNA, preferred.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.

Demonstrated good patient assessment skills. Patient assessment course preferred.

Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
