The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and recipes for our Cooks. This includes preparing meat and vegetables, and making sauces and soups. Our Prep Cooks do their best to make each meal with high-quality ingredients and care, to make our guests' restaurant experience amazing.

Responsibilities for this role include:
- Preparing all food with the highest level of quality following all recipe standards
- Chopping vegetables, season & cook meat, prepare sauces and soups
- Safely operating all kitchen equipment, ensuring it is cleaned and put away properly
- Assisting in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen & storage areas
- Following all food safe standards
- Assisting with inventory control and inform Management of any low or out of stock items
- Complying with all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
- Other relevant and related duties as assigned
The “must haves”:
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and techniques
- Ability to follow all sanitation standards according to provincial health regulations
- Ability to work unsupervised independently and in a team environment
- Desire to maintain a constant sense of urgency and productivity working in a fast-paced environment with a positive and energetic attitude
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Great organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to repeatedly push, pull and lift up to 50lbs as well as stand, bend, twist and stretch for long periods of time
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role
The “nice to haves”:
- Previous work experience in a restaurant/hotel setting
- Culinary education
- Valid Food safety/sanitation certification
- Valid certification in First Aid
- Valid certification in WHIMS
