Senior Accountant (CPA)
Location: Red Deer, Alberta
Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000
CPA designation required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complex compilation and review engagement working papers and financial statements.
- Prepare complex personal, corporate, trust, and GST/HST tax returns.
- Prepare T4, T5, T3, T5018, and other information returns and slips.
- Liaise directly with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regarding reviews, audits, assessments, inquiries, and compliance matters.
- Analyze financial information and client accounts, identify issues, and provide practical recommendations and solutions.
- Proactively identify risks and challenges, presenting well-considered solutions to Managers and Partners.
- Support advisory engagements, including tax planning, estate planning, pipeline transactions, corporate reorganizations, and amalgamations.
- Research and interpret tax legislation, accounting standards, and assurance standards.
- Mentor, train, and support junior team members.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and client service.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge.
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements independently.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Leadership mindset with experience in training and developing staff.
Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
