Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Fleet Maintenance to lead our vehicle and equipment maintenance operations. In this vital role, you will oversee the servicing, repair, and upkeep of a diverse fleet that includes heavy machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all fleet assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our operational excellence. Duties
- Supervise, monitor and assign daily maintenance activities for the fleet, including for highway tractors, trailers, and other equipment
- Coordinate scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.
- Assist in leading a team of technicians in diagnosing mechanical issues using schematics, electrical diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during all maintenance procedures.
- Assist with inventory of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for repairs and routine servicing.
- Oversee repairs involving welding, power tools, hand tools, and heavy lifting equipment to ensure quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with operations teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow or productivity.
Requirements
- Proven experience with heavy equipment and highway maintenance with a strong background in diesel repair and industrial equipment.
- Red Seal license required.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience and familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and performing heavy lifting safely.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics to diagnose issues accurately.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing maintenance teams or technicians.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience with Garage Management systems such as Truck Mate are strong asset
- Bilingual considered strong asset

Pay: $60,000.00-$90,273.16 per year
