Pharmasave #205 Sidney is looking for a part-time Front Store Clerk/Merchandiser to join our team in Sidney, British Columbia.
Responsibilities:
- Provide warm, friendly customer service by greeting all customers and handling inquiries courteously
- Operate the cash register, stock shelves, tidy aisles, and support various front-store tasks
- Receive and verify incoming orders accurately
- Use a POS receiving system; maintain invoices, purchase orders, and claims
- Coordinate inter-store transfers and resolve discrepancies (costs, quantities, terms)
- Enter product data (cost, quantity, pricing) accurately into POS
- Guide team on receiving procedures when the Merchandise Clerk is absent
- Organize and maintain stockroom (orders, overstock, supplies)
- Ensure proper stock rotation and periodic inventory clear-outs
- Manage marking/shipping supplies; process returns and damaged goods
- Apply merchandising standards (rotation, shelf labels, facing)
- Maintain assigned store sections; report out-of-stock items
- Ensure store cleanliness and organization, including performing light janitorial duties and maintaining displays
- Follow store policies on security, shoplifting, lottery, and CBO ticket handling
- Monitor cash levels, anticipate change needs, and request pickups when necessary
- Develop strong product knowledge, stay informed about new items, and maintain awareness of store layout
- Merchandise products effectively using shelf labels, rotation, and facing techniques
Postal Office Duties:
- Ensure all customers' mail is sorted in a timely fashion.
- Sort, sequence, and batch mail items.
- Answer customer questions and concerns about their mail.
- Review mail items for address accuracy, proper postage, etc.
- Perform any combination of tasks in a post office, such as receiving letters, selling postage and revenue stamps, and stamping envelopes.
- Operate a computer to key in data.
- Send and receive moneygram.
- Weigh letters and parcels; compute mailing costs based on type, weight, and destination; and affix correct postage.
- Exercise physical effort in bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, etc.
- Carry out additional duties as delegated by the Front Store Manager and Store Operator/Pharmacy Manager.
Qualifications:
- Experience in merchandising, cashiering, retail, shipping, or receiving is required
- Accurate cash handling and strong customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Physically able to lift to 50 lbs and perform packing/loading tasks
- Clear, courteous communication and strong product knowledge
- Mature, cooperative attitude with a professional appearance, including proper grooming and a name tag
- Criminal Record Check required
Schedule:
- 20 to 24 hours per week.
- The store hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Applicants must be available to work both weekday and weekend shifts as needed
