We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and driven individual to help support our Organization in the role of Millwright/Supervisor at our Port Colborne, ON facility.
Millwright Duties – Shop Floor
Main Tasks:
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Other departmental duties as required
Requirements:
- 433A certification (Mandatory)
Supervisor Duties - Shop Floor
Main Tasks:
- Coordinate all activities in regards to operations from Oskam Production schedule. Oskam employees in your supervision are your responsibility. Ensure safety.
- Coordinate and communicate all production activities with employees. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure Oskam employees understand the job specific instructions, and to monitor daily activities to ensure compliance with Ministry of Labour guidelines as out lined in “Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
- Coordinate and communicate all activities to ensure safety and quality.
- Supervisor is responsible for all safety of employees during operations, which includes ensuring that properly trained and skilled employees are on the job.
- Report to Management and to production any issues that influence an employee or piece of equipment.
- Manage all quality documents & quality control documentation requirements for jobs on site and document through main office.
- Management to be consulted on all items large or small when any conflict or concern is raised.
- Review all matters with your Production Manager related to possible disciplinary action before any disciplinary action is taken. Human Resources is to be consulted also to determine current discipline on employee’s record.
- Completely record all hours to main office and customer (when required) Oskam total weekly hours on site.
- Shop work will be recorded on “Work Order Sheet” and transferred to customer time sheets weekly. Field supervisor and shop supervisor to coordinate.
Secondary Tasks:
- Return all packing slips that are received in field operations and document when required on time sheets for proper billing.
- Miscellaneous tasks as specified.
Wage: $40.00 To $45.00 per hour
