Position Summary
Why Quinte Health?

Required
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing, or eligible for registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario,
- Completed Post Graduate Operating Room Certificate,
- Current CPR or BCLS certificate
- Minimum of 2 years’ operating room experience in the last 5 years
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Available to work all shifts (days, evenings, weekends) and on call duty
- Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and have strong organizational skills
- Must have satisfactory work performance and attendance in present position
- Capable of coping with a physically demanding workload (Physical Demands Analysis PDA available to review),
- Medical Surveillance is required for personnel routinely working with mechanical equipment and the class of lasers used in the OR. A hearing test and eye exam must be arranged
- Must have a satisfactory Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check.
Duties
- Utilizes the Nursing Process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
- Provides preoperative teaching to patients & families as required
- Performs acts requiring specialized knowledge, skills and judgment in assessing health needs and in planning, administering and evaluating patient care in the operating room environment
- Responsible to work collaboratively with other members of the health care team who contribute to the provision of patient care.
- Maintains nursing records.
- Participates in Quality Improvement programs to ensure a high level of patient care.
- Other duties as assigned.
