Focus: New Home Construction
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Installer / Service Technician to join our team. This role is primarily focused on the installation and servicing of HVAC systems within the residential new construction sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal installations/repairs and a solid understanding of modern residential HVAC technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Layout, assemble, and install ductwork, furnaces, air conditioners, and HRV systems in new residential builds according to blueprints and local building codes.
- System Start-ups: Perform initial system testing and balancing to ensure optimal performance and airflow.
- Service & Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and maintain HVAC equipment in recently completed homes, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of workmanship while adhering to safety protocols (OH&S) and site cleanliness.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with other trades, site supervisors, coworkers and management to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in residential sheet metal installation and HVAC service, specifically in a new construction environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to read architectural blueprints and HVAC layouts. Ability to troubleshoot residential HVAC equipment a significant asset.
- Certification: Journeyman or Apprentice Sheet Metal Worker status is required. Gas Fitter certification is a significant asset.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy equipment, able to do physical work for extended periods of time, use ladders safely.
- Professionalism: Strong communication skills (see Collaboration under Responsibilities)
- Requirements: Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
