Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Grocery Manager to oversee the operations of our grocery department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the industry, exceptional team management skills, deep product knowledge and a strong focus on customer service and sales.
Duties:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the grocery department, including inventory management, ordering, stocking, and merchandising.
- Lead and motivate a team of grocery associates to ensure excellent customer service.
- Utilize point-of-sale (POS) systems for puchase orders and pricing control.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and product knowledge.
- Negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing and promotions.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels with strategic buying and sales.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a grocery management role or similar position.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in sales strategies and merchandising techniques.
-Willing to develop knowledge on the local customer base and product preferences.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Manage direct reports, including orientation, training and performance evaluation.
- Excellent negotiation skills for vendor interactions.
