Job Title: Heavy Duty Truck Dismantler Job
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Truck Dismantler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for systematically dismantling heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles to recover usable parts and materials. This position requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Disassemble heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment using a variety of hand and power tools
- Identify, remove, and tag usable parts for resale or recycling, ensuring careful handling and proper inventory recording
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and other equipment to maneuver large vehicle components safely
- Drain and properly dispose of fluids such as oil, coolant, and fuel in accordance with environmental and safety regulations
- Inspect and assess components for damage or usability, and prepare parts for warehousing or shipping
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all workplace safety protocols
- Assist with parts organization and warehouse operations as needed
Qualifications
- Experience in vehicle or heavy equipment dismantling, repair, or related mechanical work preferred
- Proficiency with tools such as wrenches, impact guns, grinders, saws, and cutting tools
- Ability to read work orders and follow instructions accurately
- Capable of lifting heavy parts and working in physically demanding conditions
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of automotive fluids and materials
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain is an asset
Work Conditions
- Outdoor work environments in most weather conditions, often around large machinery and heavy equipment
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times
- Full-time hours with occasional overtime during busy periods
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 42.5 per week
