We are currently seeking an Environmental Advisor to support Lloydminster Thermal Operations environmental compliance programs across our Lloydminster Thermal operations. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, maintenance, Senior Environmental Advisor and cross-functional teams to support environmental compliance, monitoring, and reporting. This role is based out of Lloydminster with regular field engagement for operational activities.
Responsibilities:
Environmental Planning & Project Integration
Regulatory & Compliance
Support operational compliance with applicable provincial regulations and corporate standards.
Support and provide guidance to operation and maintenance teams on environmental matters including but not limited to waste management, water management, tracking and reporting, regulatory inspections and follow-up, and other environmental areas (wildlife, vegetation, etc.) .
Support regulatory team in executing field components of emissions complaince activities.
Field Execution & Support
Work directly with field teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure compliance with environmental commitments.
Manage and coordinate environmental assessment and remediation programs for active impacted sites meeting regulatory requirements advancing to closure for locations across Saskatchewan.
Support operations and consultants in the coordination, management and reporting of spills, managing remediation and regulatory reporting.
Management of third-party vendors, contractors, and consultants for programs under this position’s accountability.
Attend field sites as required to support execution and resolve issues.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
Support environmental monitoring and reporting.
Review operational reports, schedules, and field updates.
Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready documentation.
Coordination & Continuous Improvement
Act as liaison between for operations during regulatory engagement.
Support improvements to environmental tracking, reporting, and process consistency.
Identify gaps between planning and execution and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in oil and gas operations, compliance, and environmental management.
Working knowledge of Saskatchewan environmental regulatory frameworks.
Strong knowledge and experience in soil & groundwater assessments, remediation, reporting, spill management and notification, and environmental best management practices across Saskatchewan.
Post-secondary education in environmental science, biology, geology, engineering or related discipline.
Applicable professional designation is required. (P.Ag , P.Biol, RPF, PEng or Technical Equivalent)
Drivers license, field travel is required.
