Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) to support our classrooms in our new childcare center. This role will initially be afternoon coverage a few days a week, with the opportunity to build into a full time position. The ECE Assistant will work closely with our educators in both our 3-5 program and IT program. It is essential that the candidate for this position is comfortable working with both age groups.
Duties
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Support children's social-emotional development by encouraging positive interactions, modelling behaviour, and using positive guidance strategies.
- Assist with meal times, nap times, and bathroom routines as needed
- Communicate effectively with team members to promote a collaborative learning atmosphere
- Assist educators with activity preparation/setup as needed
- Knowledge of Fraser Health Licensing requirements and regulations
Skills
- Prior experience working in a childcare setting is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to follow and take initiative during the daily routine
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, and positive guidance strategies
- Patience, compassion, and a positive attitude in working with young children
Credentials
- Valid Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) Certificate
- Clean Criminal Record Check
- First Aid Certification
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
