Full-Time Veterinarian Opportunity Overview
Prairie Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to animal health and welfare, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to work effectively with pet owners and team members. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality veterinary care in a supportive and collaborative environment while utilizing laboratory experience to support accurate diagnosis and treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to accurately diagnose health conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Perform surgical procedures, vaccinations, and other medical interventions as required
- Utilize laboratory experience to perform diagnostic testing and interpret results effectively
- Educate pet owners on preventive care, nutrition, and overall health management
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with veterinary standards
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through ongoing professional development and continuing education
Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- A Canadian Citizen or has a Canadian work permit
- Must hold a Veterinary Medicine degree and/or:
- at minimum passed NAVLE,
- be registered for or have passed PSA,
- and/or be registered for the CPE
- Be in good standing with applicable veterinary associations
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the province/state of employment
- Laboratory experience is considered a strong asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and professional approach toward animals and their owners
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail
- Commitment to ethical veterinary practices and ongoing professional growth
