Commercial Site Superintendent
Starting Salary: $80,000+ (Salary to be established based on experience)
Location: Ottawa & Surrounding Areas

Responsibilities
The Site Superintendent is an integral leader at Jumec, working closely with Project Managers to oversee all trades and manage daily on-site activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Project Planning: Assist in the preparation of project schedules and review project plans to provide technical feedback.
- Site Management: Assemble job site office and equipment requirements while maintaining a neat, tidy, and organized worksite.
- Leadership: Effectively lead sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is executed in accordance with contract documents, schedules, and budgets.
- Communication: Maintain professional interaction with design professionals, consultants, and clients.
- Quality & Safety: Enforce the requirements of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and maintain rigorous construction standards and quality control.
- Monitoring: Track the project construction schedule weekly and inform the Project Manager of any discrepancies or omissions in design drawings.
- Resource Control: Monitor and control labor, material, and equipment expenses to ensure cost-effective delivery.
Qualifications
We are seeking a proactive, highly organized professional who meets the following criteria:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the commercial construction field.
- Technical Skills: Expertise in reading construction drawings and a thorough knowledge of building codes.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain government security clearance an asset
- Software Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Leadership Traits: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate construction workers effectively.
- Knowledge: A strong understanding of construction-related terms, scheduling, and planning concepts.
