We are in search of a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Personal Support Worker to provide personal care, assistance with activities of daily living as well as household support to a male employer with Quadriplegia.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable home environment while assisting with daily household tasks.
Location:
- Vancouver (Near VanDusen Botanical Garden)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
- 1:00PM-5:00PM
- 9:00AM – 1:00PM
- 6:00PM-9:00PM
- Specific days to be discussed with the employer
Compensation:
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Daily personal care, such as showering, catheter care, assisting with bowel routine, and helping the client with going to bed
- Cleaning and general household upkeep, including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing.
- Grocery shopping and running errands as needed.
- Assisting with other household-related duties as required.
- Supporting client with a dog
- Driving the client's wheelchair accessible van to do errands in the community
Required Qualifications:
- Fully vaccinated
- Must have a flexible schedule to work longer shifts
- Must be comfortable supporting the client with taking care of 2 small dogs
- Experience with bowel care, including digital stimulation and disimpaction is an asset
- Experience with using a ceiling lift is an asset
- Driver's license is an asset, (would need to be comfortable driving the client's wheelchair accessible van around the community to do errands)
- Previous caregiving experience is an asset, but not required
