We are seeking an experienced and people-focused Accounts Receivable Supervisor to join our Finance team. Our AR environment is fast-paced, high-volume, and project-based, requiring someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable balancing detail with big-picture thinking. The ideal candidate brings strong receivables experience, leadership capability, and a passion for creating efficient and customer-focused processes.
The AR Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day receivables process, support and mentor the AR team, partner closely with internal departments, and play an important role in maintaining positive customer relationships and healthy cash flow.
Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day Accounts Receivable function, ensuring invoices, credit memos, and payment applications are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor customer accounts and aging reports to proactively manage collections and minimize outstanding balances.
- Support the accuracy of customer accounts, reconciliations, and month-end AR reporting.
- Assist with resolving billing discrepancies and customer inquiries in a professional and solutions-focused manner.
Credit & Customer Management:
- Oversee new customer account setup, including credit checks, credit limits, and billing terms aligned with company policies.
- Build positive working relationships with customers while maintaining accountability around payment expectations.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Project Management, and Operations teams to support accurate project billing and contract compliance.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
- Support training, development, and continuous improvement within the department.
Process Improvement & Reporting:
- Identify opportunities to improve AR processes and support workflow efficiencies within the department.
- Help streamline systems and reduce manual processes to improve accuracy and effectiveness.
- Support reporting requests and provide documentation related to AR activities as required.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education, Licenses and/or Certification, Experience Required
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of Accounts Receivable or related accounting experience, ideally within a project-based or high-volume environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Experience within HVAC, construction, mechanical, or related industries is highly valued.
- Experience working within ERP systems (Business Central Microsoft Dynamics experience is an asset).
- Strong proficiency in
- MS Office Suite, primarily Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues, troubleshoot, and maintain productive relationships.
- Detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen ability to identify and address variances or inefficiencies.
- Excellent communicator who remains calm, professional, and solutions-oriented under pressure.
- Proven track record of managing complex transactions with accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced environments, consistently meeting deadlines while maintaining confidentiality and high standards.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and strong customer-centric approach in all interactions.
- Proven ability to take ownership of the AR function in a role offering autonomy, demonstrating responsibility, managing high-pressure situations with empathy and patience.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also being a collaborative team player with continuous improvement mindset.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
