Administrative Coordinator
30 Hours per Week
Love People? Love Being Organized? Love Making a Difference?
At the Chilliwack Academy of Music, you'll do more than keep an office running. You'll help create exceptional experiences for hundreds of students, families, and faculty while playing an important role in a thriving community music school.
Whether you're welcoming a child to their very first music lesson, helping prepare for a student concert, creating an advertisement for an exciting new program, or finding a better way to organize our office, your work will have a direct impact on our community every single day.
We're looking for someone who is sharp, proactive, and enjoys making things happen. If you take pride in creating order from complexity, love helping people, and are excited to contribute ideas, we'd love to meet you.
Who We Are
Founded in 1979, the Chilliwack Academy of Music is a charitable, non profit community music school and a Core Partner of the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
Every year, more than 500 students of all ages discover the joy of music through private lessons, group programs, outreach initiatives, and performances. We believe music has the power to build confidence, strengthen communities, and enrich lives.
Why You'll Love Being Part of CAM
- Music is happening around us all day long.
- We value creativity, not just in music, but in the way we work.
- Great ideas can come from anyone, and we love hearing them.
- Behind every great performance is a great team. We want you to be an instrumental part of ours.
- You'll have opportunities to support concerts, performances, community events, creative projects, and promotional campaigns.
- This definitely is not your typical administrative job.
- More often than not, you'll end your day on a high note.

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is sharp, capable, and genuinely enjoys making things happen. You see what needs to be done, take initiative, and follow things through. You can manage the details without losing sight of the bigger picture, and you take pride in doing excellent work.
- Exceptionally organized and able to manage competing priorities
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative
- A natural problem solver who looks for solutions rather than waiting for direction
- Detail oriented, accurate, and committed to following things through
- Warm, professional, and confident communicating with a wide range of people
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects from idea through completion
- Able to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a small team
- Confident learning new systems, technology, and ways of working

- Adaptable and able to shift priorities when the unexpected happens
You will also bring experience in administration, operations, office management, or a related field, along with strong computer skills and confidence working with Microsoft Office and cloud based systems.
Experience in the arts, education, or non profit sector is an asset, but it is not required. You do not need a background in music to be an important part of CAM.
