Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in repair of heavy trucks like dump trucks, live bottoms trialers, Hydrovac Trucks, Paccar and Cummins Engines, Allison and Eaton transmission, Hydraulic System etc. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of trucks for Engine related issue, Dpf, transmission related issues and more. The mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting our day to day operations. A strong background in mechanical knowledge, electrical systems, welding, and the use of hand and power tools is essential to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on a variety of machinery including heavy trucks and traliers
- Must have full knowledge of Paccar, Cummins to rebuild
- Conduct routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Weld components as needed using various welding techniques
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move parts or equipment during repairs or maintenance
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities
- Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on heavy equipment maintenance
- Dealership experience preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Cummins, Volvo and Paccar engine and other industrial machinery systems Experience with electrical troubleshooting, schematics reading, welding, and assembly processes
- Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform complex repairs independently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or working in confined spaces
- Customer service skills are a plus for roles involving client interaction or support
