Our client is a technology manufacturer building connected sensing hardware for industrial use, scaling up production at its Langley facility. They are hiring a hands-on Production Lead to own the daily build, test, and delivery of hardware on the shop floor while helping strengthen and expand local production capability. This is a frontline technical leadership role for someone who wants to lead from the bench, solving real production problems in real time as the operation grows.
- Lead and coordinate daily production, assembly, and test activities, keeping production flow on track to meet delivery commitments.
- Work hands-on alongside technicians on assembly, validation, rework, and troubleshooting, acting as the first escalation point for technical issues on the floor.
- Troubleshoot and resolve PCB-level faults, assembly defects, and intermittent test failures, leading root cause analysis through to effective resolution.
- Own the readiness and reliability of production test systems, fixtures, and tooling, building, repairing, and improving test setups across power, communication, RF, and sensor validation.
- Partner with engineering to improve design-for-manufacturing, build robustness, and production readiness.
- Train and mentor technicians on assembly methods, test equipment, and troubleshooting, building bench depth and reducing reliance on outside technical support.
- Support the expansion of Langley production through standardized build and test methods, fixture readiness, cross-training, and clearer documentation.
- Uphold quality and safety standards, driving down rework, test escapes, and avoidable disruption while keeping an organized, disciplined workspace.
- Hands-on technical background in electronics, mechatronics, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in electronics assembly, product testing, and production troubleshooting, with a strong ability to debug hardware and isolate faults in a practical environment.
- Comfort working with test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and communication interfaces, and the ability to build and maintain fixtures, harnesses, and diagnostic tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a hands-on production environment while actively contributing on the floor.
- Ability to read and follow schematics, work instructions, test procedures, and technical documentation.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, lean practices, or continuous improvement methods is a strong asset.
